September 28

I've been out-of-town for a couple of weeks so I was eager to see if either of the last two blooms had arrived. To my surprise, a small flower has appeared on the plant I thought would not bloom at all.

Here's a close-up

Now there's just one remaining - and it looks like it will go into October.

Here is the clematis in full array.

September 16

Our late-blooming clematis has started to bloom.

That leaves two to go for the season

This one may have another couple of weeks to go

I don't think this one will bloom this year - it's looked like this for over a month and it was moved to its current shady location a couple of weeks ago. Too much sun earlier; too much trauma now - at least it's still alive.

September 12

There are no new blooms, but the promised picture of additional boltonia is below. There are three flowers left to bloom: I expect one in a day or two, another I can't predict, and the third doesn't look like it's going to make it at all.

September 8

Two new ones today

Anemone - I wasn't expecting this one.

Another much larger, and slower Sedum

It's debateable whether it's actually fully bloomed yet, but since the bees think so, I'm posting it
(click on the picture for a larger version where the bee is more visible)

September 5

I can't believe that I got this all ready to post on 9/5 and then never finished it.

Obedient plant

September 4

We have another new one!

Boltonia - Marie thinks I should wait until more of the individual flowers bloom, but instead I will post the first bloomer now and catch the crowd later when it shows up

September 3

I think this is the last one we're going to get from the boulevard garden

A small, late-blooming hosta

September 2

We have one previously overlooked bloom today. It's getting late in the season, but we expect to get another seven or eight this month - maybe.

Flower-that-came-out-of-nowhere [we don't know what it is; we didn't plant it; it looks like others we've already posted, but it isn't]

I also noticed a lone, isolated blossom on the Gooseneck
Here it is in context

And up-close

September 1

There's been nothing new since August 24; there are still a couple we're waiting for, but they're not here yet.

However, we have had a late summer visitor

Isn't s/he cute?
